New websites for Nuffield Foundation and Nuffield Council on Bioethics

Two new Public Life websites for Nuffield Foundation and Nuffield Council on Bioethics went live in September 2010.

Nuffield Foundation is one of the UK’s leading charitable trusts, which specialises in research into issues of public policy and education. It also creates resources for science, technology and maths teaching and supports educational achievement with bursaries and scholarships.

Dissemination of learning

The foundation’s new website provides a detailed record of their work and also showcases projects of particular public interest. The aim is to support dissemination of lessons learned from the foundation’s research through better information design and improved findability through search.

The Nuffield Council on Bioethics convenes world-leading experts to provide authoritative guidance on complex bioethical issues. The new website provides a public record of previous projects and a platform for engagement with projects in process.

Shared technical platform

The sister sites share the same Drupal-based open source CMS and provide state of the art features including animated javascript features galleries and sophisticated taxonomies for organising content.

Phase two work for the Nuffield Foundation website is ongoing, with a series of education microsites that will make the Foundation’s education resources more easily available to teachers, due to go live during the course of 2011.
