A comprehensive web and intranet solution
The Electoral Commission project included a website, an intranet and a full suite of microsites.
The site creates an authoritative online home for the statutory body, while is also accessible to the general public.
Its visual style builds on the organisation’s brand values of openness, transparency and accessibility. Plenty of white space, clear typography and a very clean look are enlivened by colourful pictures that add a populist touch.
Strong information design provides very clear channeling to important parts of the site, while areas of specific interest to the public are highlighted with visual banners.
The site provides a number of complex tools, including the official database of Registers and a system for publishing election results.
The Registers provide the official statutory guide to political party funding, along with other essential electoral information.
The Commission’s website is also the home of official election results. We undertook a detailed information architecture and wireframes development exercise for the results reporting system, which covers all of constituencies across the UK’s different electoral systems, including the devolved assemblies.
